An ambient chill experience with very present drum sounds.
It's a nice track to just lay back and not get too in the head.

I wonder what the thought process is for coming up for the title?

I enjoy the keyboard sections a lot. I feel though the balancing could be improved on with relation to the drums. I find it somewhat distracting when immersing myself into the background reverb-y goodness.

- another curious observation is the shape of the fadeout curve for end section being exact with the peaking sound.

Nice one.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Mostly a just a cheeky joke title. I always felt like the second half of the song was a riff off/motif of the first portion. I dunno.

You might be right on that. The mix is a bit old. I think the mix improves later on in the track once the clippy kicks goes go away -- which does eventually happen @ ~1:40. It's a bit spicy. It's a bit poking. Aggravating? The track sorta brightens up towards the end. Intermixing that pokey kick with a bit more control. Feels ever-so-slightly more hopeful.

Sometimes you just make some decisions and roll with it. Fun to look back.

The melodic work was definitely my favorite bits of this. Some of the chilled out jazzy / shuffled hats and reverberating ratcheting static towards the end too.

I believe I faded out different elements towards the end, at different times?

Thanks for listening. <3
:)

Never encountered this one before.

TL-O responds:

Indeed an ancient fanmade track that is a result of me trying to use Beepbox lol

I enjoyed how it ends where the drums fade from the presence and the room noise takes over. I wonder if that was a transition to room mic capture of the same recording or... some funky effects?

I would say I'm not as keen on the mid section pulse width synth, but it's minor.

Those vocals though, mm yes.

Emotionally speaking it brings me a sense of awe.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

A mix of both funky effects and real room.

A positive on the vox is nice, because I'm always unsure.
I do it anyway, because who cares at the end of the universe.

I'm glad you like my little piece of sonic expression. <3

Now THIS is a find.

I really enjoy that evolving instrumental track. I've been personally going though a lot of stuff in my head, and listening to something that plays around a lot with all of my favorite sample processing just REALLY fixes my mood.

I immediately get C418 in my mind in this one, I think people may have said that too but seriously that type of music really sinks deep into my core - really needed to hear that thank you so much.

Oh btw yeah that buildup to the intro is just NICE. The soft piano playing for the first minute or so kept my interest in before bringing out the sick percussion editing. Maintained a chill tone throughout, kept it going and kept it interesting. That middle section with that groovy rhodes solo (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) was peak for this track.

I am only just starting to train my ears as a possible future audio tech guy or what not but I can't really say much about its mixing because I just ENJOYED it. Maybe if I really listen for I could pick out something but that'll be too much specifics. I was a little let down though about that brief stop five minutes in but I can't complain.

I hope that bit of comment lifts the spirits even more, 'cause you got yourself another listener.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

C418 is great! I've played Minecraft on and off over the years. With/without the OST. Mods, etc. I can see the parallels though -- I can't claim to be directly inspired by him -- perhaps tangentially via video games in general? A shared musicality or interest in particular sounds.

The middle section isn't actually a rhodes (this time). It's a secret sauce Sega Genesis sound that I've used over the years.

It can be appreciated to have a mix through another set of trained ears. Especially as fatigue sets in as you work for hours and hours on a track...I mix all this stuff my self. End fo the day, if it sounds alright to my ears and brainlet, it should be alright. I always mix as a I go. It's never an after-thought, it's just a part of the process. I don't really care if something sounds ever-so-slightly muddy, etc. Most listeners don't give two shits at the end of the day if the composition is alright. Haha.

About that stop...I usually like to smooth out an ending....This song though...
Over the years I've had tracks give me the same feeling. I wanted to do the same. Like an abused listener. I wanted to object you all to the same pain. Haaaa.

Like the life, sucked out of you.
